Tom Ptach

I was born and raised in Des Plaines, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago. I graduated from the University of Utah with a B.A. in business. I lived in the Vail Valley from 1983 to 1991, where I last served as Treasurer of Vail Associates Inc.

I met my wife Cindy in 1986. Cindy is a former broker and owner of Colorado Group Realty. Together, we have one son Scott.

I am a certified public account. I served as Vice President of Finance and Operations of Premier Resorts International 1993 through 1997. In 1992, Cindy and I moved to Steamboat Springs. We have owned and operated Pilot Office Outfitters since January 1998.

I believe in giving back to our community. I was a founding board member of MainStreet Steamboat, I served on the City of Steamboat Spring Board of Adjustments and Sign Committee, and served on the Steamboat Springs Fund Board 1998 to 2009; served as its president 2006 & 2007. Currently, I serve on the Steamboat Springs Golf Committee – managing entity of Haymaker Golf Course. Also, I am a member of the Ski Town Rotary; served as its president July 2008 – June 2009.
