July 24th, 2014- Steamboat Springs

As soon as the snow melts, a quiet wave passes througth the Yampa Valley, letting locals hang up their skis, store their snowboards, and cover their snowmobiles until next season. With yet another amazing Steamboat winter, it's time to take some down time, which is what would happen if there was absolutelty nothing left to conquer in Steamboat. Tourists and locals alike know that with the last flake of snow to melt comes another anticipated season; summer. Though travels and locals may come for the Winters they either return or stay for the Summers. What is it that draws so many people back to this quaint little valley in the summer?

Steamboat Springs has always been known as Ski Town USA, but in recent years a new kid is on the block changing the game, seeking out different types of people, claiming Steamboat as Bike Town USA. With hundreds of miles of single track, epic road riding, a paved multi-use trail and gravity specific trails Steamboat caters to all types of riders.  Bringing more events each year to the community Ski Town USA is quickly seeing a challenge to now become Bike Town USA.

Over the weekend thousands of cylcists ventured to the community to participate in the Tour De Steamboat. This year marked the 11th year for Tour De Steamboat. Tour De Steamboat is an annual bicycle event that brings together 1,000 cyclists and over 30 local and state-wide
