Colorado Group Realty Charitable Foundation grants $13,000

The
Colorado Group Realty Charitable Foundation awarded a total of $13,000 in
grants to seven local organizations Wednesday, May 23rd at, 12 p.m. at a
gathering at the Tread of Pioneers Museum. This is another distribution of
grants, which have totaled over $75,000 by the Charitable Foundation and is
part of a continuous effort to support community-based programs.
“In
order to support our local organizations, it is with great pleasure that each
and every broker at Colorado Group Realty contributes to the Colorado Group
Realty Charitable Foundation,” said Sharon Beaupre, Broker/Owner at Colorado
Group Realty and CGR Charitable Foundation board member.
This
summer’s recipients are: Community Agriculture Alliance, Friends of the Chief
Foundation, Friends of the Yampa, Humble Ranch Education and Therapy Center,
Laurel Street School & Family Learning Center, Rocky Mountain Youth Corps,
Routt County Habitat for Humanity, Routt County Search and Rescue, Steamboat
Art Museum, Steamboat Springs Elementary Challenge Fund and Tread of Pioneers
Museum.
The
Colorado Group Realty Charitable Foundation was established in 2006 in order to
provide a means to give back to the community. In addition to donations made at
the time of real estate transactions, employees, managers and matching funds
from client and public donations, can also contribute to the foundation. The goal
of the Charitable Foundation is to support a wide range of community based
programs related to human services, the arts, education, western heritage, the
environment and recreation.

Recipients:
The
mission of Community Agriculture Alliance is
to preserve the
agricultural heritage of the Yampa Valley by initiating, supporting and
encouraging actions, programs and policies that mutually benefit and connect
agricultural producers and consumers.
Friends
of the Chief Foundation
is a not-for-profit community based organization
committed to the rehabilitation and revitalization of the historic Chief Theater
in downtown Steamboat Springs.
Friends
of the Yampa strive
to protect and enhance the environmental and recreational integrity of the
Yampa River, its basin, and its tributaries through stewardship, advocacy,
partnerships, and education.
Humble
Ranch Education & Therapy Center provides therapeutic activities for
individuals with special needs, in a natural environment, outside the confines
of a traditional hospital setting.
Laurel
Street School & Family Learning Center is an early childhood educational facility
that
has
enhanced the lives of Routt County children for over 40 years.
Rocky
Mountain Youth Corps engages youth in the outdoors, inspiring them to use
their strengths and potential to lead healthy, productive lives. They teach responsibility for self, community
and environment through teamwork, service and experiential education.
Routt
County Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for
Humanity International. Together they
partner with the local community to build or remodel simple decent homes for
low-income families.
Routt
County Search & Rescue is a volunteer organization that provides
mountain search and rescue and other emergency assistance in Routt County.
The
mission of the Steamboat Art Museum
is to
collect, preserve, and present fine art to the public, with a primary focus on
the culture and heritage of Northwestern Colorado.
Steamboat
Springs Elementary Challenge Fund
has been
established in partnership to help cover financial shortfalls in revenue as well
as support new 21st Century Skills and programs in Steamboat Springs Elementary
Schools.
Tread
of Pioneers Museum
is a
not-for-profit historical institution that promotes an understanding and
appreciation of the history of the Steamboat Springs area by collecting,
preserving, exhibiting, interpreting, and sharing that history and heritage
with audiences of all ages and interests.
