In 1974, I was teaching school in Syracuse, N.Y. when I joined some friends who were going skiing in Colorado for the winter. As is often the case with this scenario, I remained in Steamboat the following summer, and then another winter, until it became apparent to me that I had fallen in love with the Yampa Valley. I worked at the local Steamboat Pilot newspaper and wrote for the Steamboat Magazine until I earned my real estate license in 1987.
Among my most cherished achievements is my participation in the preservation of a 4,000 acre ranch in the heart of the south valley through the conception of the Agate Creek Preserve, an exclusive residential land development which funded the purchase of nearly half of the acreage and allowed most of the ranch to remain in preservation forever. I enjoy cross country skiing and sailing with my attorney husband, Bruce, and daughter Mary, a music student at Berkley College of Music in Boston.
