After living in Massachusetts and Maine as a child, I decided I needed to see more of the world. I backpacked through parts of Iceland, England, and Europe, and then spent 6 weeks in Israel on a kibbutz before returning home to apply for immigration to Australia. After spending some time in Perth and Melbourne, I settled in Sydney. I began my Australian working life as a secretary for Sydney's #1 radio station. After three years of having a great time, but barely being able to feed myself, I moved on to being a personal assistant to the President of S.C. Johnson. After a few years, I decided on a change of profession, and so began to turn my love of cooking into a business. I spent 8 years catering for film crews, in which I traveled around in a mobile kitchen feeding actors and the crews on site, and two years owning a restaurant.
After 17 years in Sydney, my husband and I moved to Steamboat, after having spent several vacations skiing here. After 6 years of living here, my husband was homesick for his country and so we moved back to Australia. The Yampa Valley curse, however, had taken its toll on us and we returned to Steamboat (for good) in 2004. The people, the surroundings, and the healthy sporting atmosphere that exists here is difficult to find anywhere else.
