My grandfather followed the Gold Rush to Hahn's Peak in 1888. When the gold played out, he moved the family mercantile to Steamboat Springs in 1902. I grew up in Steamboat and am well known among the local community. I am married to Barbi, and have two children.

I was a fixture at the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation for many years, most recently as the Ski Patrol Director. I also started the mountain bike program for the ski resort and designed many of the mountain bike trails in use on the mountain today. Look out for Pete's Wicked Trail when riding your bike on the mountain this summer.

I am an avid outdoorsman, but I have always found time to give back to the community. I was on the City Council for eight years from 1983-1991. I have been President of the Tread of Pioneers Museum, the Rocky Mountain Youth Corps, and am the current President of the Routt County Riders Bicycle Club and the City of Steamboat Springs Parks and Recreation Commission. I recently received the Leckenby Pioneer Award, which recognizes community and youth involvement by a person with ties to the early Steamboat pioneers.

I have always had an interest in the real estate market because of its diversity and huge significance to the local economy, and got my real estate sales license in the 1970's. Now, I am happy to be associated with Colorado Group Realty as a full-time professional Owner/Broker and have enjoyed considerable success in the business. I was named Colorado Group Realty's Broker Associate of the year for 2001. I am based at Colorado Group's downtown office located at 509 Lincoln Avenue, across from the Court House.
