I was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, while my father was getting his masters in social work. We moved to Ames, Iowa where my father is still a professor in Sociology and Social work. That is where I spent my childhood, as well as my college years at Iowa State University. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Restaurant Management.
While growing up in Iowa my family vacationed every summer at Rocky Mountain National Park as well as winter trips to Steamboat. So the Rocky Mountains got in my blood and I always knew that I wanted to live in the mountains.
After college I ended up in Las Vegas working for Macaroni Grill as an opening team member and I met my wife Lauri while opening new stores in southern California. Lauri lived in Denver at the time and it didn't take long before I was there as well. After doing the big city corporate grind for a couple of years, we decided to move up to the mountains where we were already spending all of our spare time. After extensive, hard research in many mountain towns, the community and people of Steamboat won us over. So we sold our house, quit our jobs, traveled around the country for three months and then relocated to Steamboat. I took a job at the Chart House as a manager and got back into the corporate grind that I had just left. After some soul searching and extensive talks with Randall Hannaway (President of Colorado Group), I chose real estate as my profession in Steamboat. I got my real estate license in August of 2000 and went to work as Randall's assistant for two years.
From years of being in the service industry I understand the level of service that people want and deserve and have brought that to my Real Estate career.
