Jon Sanders

Jon SandersIf you want to learn more about me, call me, I'll take you out to lunch!

But for a quick brief:

I was born in Boulder Colorado and raised in Fort Collins. My parents met in Aspen, but we ended up spending our winters in Steamboat. I grew up around Real Estate helping my Father manage our rental properties. My father called it chores, but I always thought of it as child labor, and now I understand it was practice! After High School I returned to Boulder where I graduated from the University of Colorado's Leeds School of Business with an emphasis in Real Estate, Small Business Finance and Sustainability.

I started managing student rentals the summer of my Junior year. By the time I graduated I was managing and leasing over 70+ properties around Boulder. Just after graduation I received my Real Estate License and within a year I had sold almost $1.5 million in investment Real Estate. By 2005 I was managing Office investments in Boulder and Denver and was working on my third personal Real Estate purchase. My career eventually led me to Denver where I joined a small group called Sperry Properties, Inc. With Sperry Properties I leased Retail, Industrial and Office and managed a 60,000 SqFt office Building in Aurora for the Haselden's. At the same time I started working on a Masters Degree from Colorado State University. The drive was long and the studies short lived, so I settled for a Certificate in Construction Management.

In April of 2007 my younger brother living in Steamboat suffered from a serious neck injury on the Mountain. Like a miracle, he has now almost recovered 100%. The experience changed my outlook on life and I realized there in no better time to pursue our dreams then now. My Brother walked out of the Hospital in late June and by late July I had packed up and moved to Steamboat without even a plan. I started walking into real estate offices looking for the "big guns" in town. I heard about Jim Cook one weekend, walked into his office early the following morning, and now I'm working out of that same office!

My activities include
Member of USGBC, LEED AP candidate, ULI Young Leaders, Brokers Benefiting Kids, Member of Emerging Green Builders, CCIM Course Work; Avid Snowboarder, Backcountry enthusiast, Conservationist, competitive Soccer Player, Volunteer Ambassador at the Ski Mountain and most of all… I love to visit secret powder stashes in the winter and secluded fishing holes on the Yampa River in the summers.

A few things to always remember
If you stop learning, it is time to make a change. The harder you work, the luckier you get. You must be the change you wish to see in the world. Life is barely a raindrop in the true realm of time. If you are going to live, then live it on up!
